How do you get that ‘toned look’….?

Well it's not from constant dieting that is for sure.

You need to build muscle to get a 'toned' look. All a toned look really is is when you have built the muscle and then stripped back the fat to reveal the 'toned' look.

Which is why I hate the term, this is a 'toning exercise'.

There are no specific toning exercises.

With clients I will strip back their fat first to get them feeling good about their body.

And with the right strategy you can actually also build some muscle in this time period too and create a body recomposition, especially if you are new to exercise (you can build muscle faster as a newbie than an experienced lifter)

After the fat is gone we focus on building the dream body

= You'll see the tone you want.

However building muscle takes time (sorry not sorry to the people who want a quick fix).

Ideally to build muscle naturally a build phase is over a 6 month minimum period.

 

Growing muscle naturally takes time as well as:

✅ The right progressive periodised programmes (I change mine and my clients every 4 weeks)

✅ Taking calories up (this is over 3000 calories for me)

✅ The right macro (proteins /carbs/fats) split for you

✅ Reducing daily activity

✅ Executing exercises with the right technique to target the muscles you want to grow

✅ Quality sleep

These are just a few of the main things.

But this is where bodies are built.

You cannot stay shredded all year around on super low calories (yuck to that anyway) and expect to build muscle.

And muscle is what creates that toned/shredded/hot look you want.
